Proud recipients of a sustainability award

During this year's Gothenburg Horse Show, EWA had the honor of receiving the Lövsta Stuteri Future Challenge & Gothenburg Horse shows sustainability award.  

We are incredibly proud and grateful to receive this award. It means a great deal to us, not only as recognition of our work, but also for the opportunity to highlight our new EWA Fiber and our vision of creating a more sustainable riding surface for the future.

THE JURY'S STATEMENT

 The award ceremony took place during the Gothenburg Horse Shows business seminar, where several inspiring speakers from the equestrian industry shared their insights before we were invited on stage to present our work and tell the story of our journey.

Although the EWA-fiber still has several rounds of testing to complete before becoming a finished product har fortfarande flera tester kvar innan den är en färdig produkt, we were honored to receive the sustainability award for our initiative with the jury stating:

“Equestrian Wool Arena is awarded this year's sustainability award for its initiative to develop an equestrian riding surface based on wool and sand. The wool used is a residual by-product that would otherwise go to waste, contributing to a more circular use resources. In addition, the entire material is biodegradable. By replacing the polyester fibre currently used in riding surfaces, which, under upcoming legislation, will no longer be permitted, EWA is taking an important step towards a more environmentally friendly and future-proof equestrian sport. EWA demonstrates how innovation and responsibility can go hand in hand, inspiring the industry to embrace a necessary transition."

Now our work continues and we will to everything we can to live up to the jury's inspiring citation.

What better way to celebrate an award from the equestrian industry than at Tavolo - with a giant horse head in the middle of the restaurant?

The award jury consisted of Alexandra Mörner (Sustainability Manager, Lövsta Future Challenge), Jenny Blomberg (Hållbar Häst), and Erika Olsson (Project Manager, Gothenburg Horse Show).
